皆様、こんにちは！  
Google Maps Platform のプロフェッショナル集団、ゴーガです。

2022年9月28日(米国時間)に、Google Maps Platform の Routes API という新たなAPIがリリースされると発表され、  
2023年3月に正式リリースされました。

「Routes API とは」  
Google Maps Platform のAPIであるDirections API (経路検索、距離、所要時間)やDistance Matrix API (複数の出発地目的地までの距離、所要時間の計算)の拡張版です。

注目すべき機能は以下のとおりです。  
● 二輪車両でのルート( Two-Wheel Routing )  
　・二輪車両に特化したルート検索  
　・高速道路や有料道路を回避するオプション  
● 高速道路の料金 ( Toll Calculation )  
　　・ルート決定時に、通行料を計算  
　　・車種を考慮した計算  
● 環境に配慮したルーティング ( Eco-friendly routing )  
　　・エンジンタイプを選択することで、燃料節約を実現  
　　・燃料使用量の予測も可能に

これらの注目すべき機能ですが、2022年9月28日時点では、残念ながら日本は未対応となっており、明確なスケジュールは発表されていません。

それ以外にも、これまでの API ではできなかった機能がRoutes API で実現できるようになっていきますので、  
ぜひ、お試しいただければと思います。  
● ルート検索結果(ポリライン)に混雑状況を表示  
● Waypoint に通過地点か、停止地点化を指定可能　などなど。
